Transgeneration transmission of trauma in individuals with substance addiction experiences
Havelková, Lucie ; Líbalová, Ivana (advisor) ; Dymešová, Gabriela (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the manifestation of complex developmental trauma in the offspring of persons with experience of addiction to addictive substances and its potential transgenerational transmission. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to describe substance addiction, complex developmental and collective trauma and their manifestations, including possible mechanisms of transgenerational transmission of trauma, with the help of literature. In the practical part, the research focuses on the topics of family relationships, childhood with an addicted parent, personal relationship to addictive substances and manifestations of trauma in adulthood. Due to the aim of the work, a qualitative research design was chosen, the data was collected by using a semi- structured interview and processed using the method of thematic analysis and open coding. In the practical part of the investigation, the level of traumatization among the respondents was examined using the CTQ-SF questionnaire. Subsequently, the respondents selected according to the given criteria were subjected to a semi-structured interview. Based on the practical part of the work and in agreement with literature, it can be stated that respondents living with a parent with alcohol addiction bear the consequences of these life...

frehabilitation of family end angered by transgenerational transmission of alcohol addiction
Kaletová, Markéta ; Novák, Petr (advisor) ; Čedík, Miloslav (referee)
The submitted diploma thesis is called: Rehabilitation of a family endangered by transgenerational transmission of alcohol addiction. Alcohol addiction in the family is a very current topic, as it can have a significant impact on future generations of children who grew up with an alcohol addicted parent. The theoretical part deals with the issue of alcohol addiction and its impact on family functioning, psychological and social development of children and their functioning in adulthood. It also examines the causes and manifestations of transgenerational transmission of alcohol addiction in the family, including how to prevent the risk of alcohol addiction in future generations. The aim of the empirical part is to answer the main research question through interviews: What is the personal experience of the current generation of offspring of alcohol addicted parents in creating their own family and how can the family prevent the risk of transgenerational transmission of alcohol addiction to the next generation of offspring? From the research survey, we found that children who grew up in an alcoholic environment are affected to various degrees in adult life in all areas, because they have not experienced healthy parenting patterns in the family. Furthermore, it was found that protective factors in the...
Reproductive and epigenetic parameters in sperm connected to the disruptive development and early embryo loss.
Flintová, Jennifer ; Hortová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Petelák, Aleš (referee)
DNA methylation, histone modifications and regulation by non-coding RNAs are considered to play vital role in embryonal development and gametogenesis. Epigenetic mechanisms are not only inwardly programmed, but are massively affected by numerous exogenous aspects. Environmetal pollution and unhealthy parental lifestyle are two major factors related to impaired fertility status, abberant embryonal development of progeny. Some altered epigenetic marks can be transmitted to offspring generations, however in some cases these aberrations may be reversed by adequate lifestyle interventions. Since epigenetic regulations and genes responsible for spermatogenesis are conserved among vertebrates, studies based on animal models are highly relevant for understanding mechanisms causing impaired fertility and overall health in humans. Key words: Epigenetics, sperm, endocrine disruptors, hypoxia, lifestyle, transgenerational effect.

Transgenerational transmission theory in La Vie devant soi by Émile Ajar
Stuchlá, Aneta ; Ébert-Zeminová, Catherine (advisor) ; Šuman, Záviš (referee)
9.2 Abstract In this Master's thesis we have attempted to interpret Émile Ajar's novel La Vie devant soi using knowledge based on the psychoanalytic theory of trans-generational transmission. This theory assumes that a person who has been the victim of a traumatic experience cannot consciously refer to it, either through embarrassment or due to the fact that the trauma cannot be referred to verbally. However, he or she can refer to such traumas subconsciously in hints or symbols, precisely because expressing traumas, or their symbolisation in words, is the most effective therapy. If the trauma is not erased, it is transferred further trans-generationally. We consider Émile Ajar's La Vie devant soi to be a suitable work for applying the above- mentioned theory, not only due to the extraordinary life story of the author, but also as concerns the novel itself. Émile Ajar is a pseudonym of the well-known author Romain Gary (born Roman Kacew) who created the character of Émile Ajar in order to write freely regardless of what was expected of Gary as an established author and moreover, a well-known supporter of de Gaulle. As Gary's play on identities was brought to light only after his death, he was the only author to have ever been awarded the Goncourt Prize twice - the second time as Émile Ajar in La Vie devant...
TRANSGENERATIONAL TRANSMISSION OF VIOLATION IN FAMILIES
SAMCOVÁ, Daniela
The thesis describes the issue of transgenerational transmission of violence in families. The thesis is divided in into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part describes the current state of the issue. The thesis contains several chapters focusing on a general description of violence, its causes and types. I also briefly described victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. The key chapter of the thesis deals with the transgenerational transmission of violence in families, in which I attempted to analyze the topic in detail by using opinions of several prominent authors. In the research part I set my objectives and formulated two hypotheses. The research was conducted among the general public and the respondents were selected at random. The respondents were represented evenly in terms of sex; they had different educational backgrounds and socioeconomic status. The objective of the thesis was to determine to what extent the childrearing models in families are transmitted from one generation to another and to specify which factors affect childrearing patterns. The results of the research part were described and shown in form of diagrams. The results have shown that violence is indeed transferred from one generation to another. The research has shown that most of the respondents do not agree with a childrearing method with a total absence of physical punishment. On the contrary, most of the respondents believed they were able to avoid mental punishment. It has been confirmed that a low socioeconomic status does not affect childrearing patterns. Nowadays the issue is discussed very openly and it is no more viewed as a taboo. However, the related information needs to be presented continually, including new discoveries and findings which might lead to an improvement of the situation. It is necessary to keep advertizing assistance and prevention in this area. Legislative changes are critical in the struggle against violence. A significant contribution to the solution could be the education about the issue as a natural part of curriculums for the helping professions.
